How do I pin programs to the start menu? 

  1. Right-click the program you want to display at the top of the Start menu.

Note: You can right-click a program on the Start menu, in Windows Explorer, in My Computer, or on the desktop.

  1. From menu displayed...Click Pin to Start menu.

The program is now displayed in the pinned items list in the area above the separator line on the Start menu.  You can also change the order of the programs on the pinned items list by dragging a program to a new position.

 

How do I un-pin a program from the Start Menu?

  1. Right Click the program you want to remove from the start menu

  2. Click Un-pin from Start menu.

On the right hand side of of this window, you will notice it looks similar to your 98 or ME desktop there you will find the icons for my computer, my documents, my pictures, Control Panel and others.  These Icons will always stay the same.

 

This window is the area where you will keep your program icons, keeping your desktop clean and keeping you more organized.
